STRABAG acquires site for 3-star hotel in Frankfurt's Europaviertel from Vivico

Frankfurt, 10 February 2010 - STRABAG Real Estate GmbH, Rhine-Main region, has acquired a 1.600 sqm. (approx. 17,222 sq ft.) site in Frankfurt's Europaviertel from Vivico Real Estate GmbH. STRABAG will build a 3-star hotel for hotel operator Gold Inn AG on the ?Süd 7' site on Europa-Allee. The companies have signed a 20-year lease. STRABAG was advised by Colliers Hotels, Berlin and Colliers Property Partners Schön & Lopez Schmitt GmbH, Frankfurt.

The hotel, comprising 148 rooms and 5.500 sqm. (approx. 59,201 sq ft.) gross floor space, will be built by general contractor Ed. Züblin AG according to the plans of architects MPP Jan Meding, Hamburg, who specialise in hotel planning. STRABAG and Gold Inn AG believe that the prominent position near the planned Europa-Allee metro station and the west entrance of Messe Frankfurt, together with accelerated construction activity in the Europaviertel offer excellent prospects for the hotel, particularly since completion is planned in time before the start of the IAA 2011.
Several other office and residential buildings are currently being built in the Europaviertel, including Tower 185, Frankfurt's latest high-rise building, and the office and commercial building located at Europa-Allee 12-22. In total, there are now around 200,000 sqm. (approx. 2,152,782 sq ft.) of gross floor space under construction in the Europaviertel.
