Skyline Plaza Frankfurt am Main opens tomorrow

The Skyline Plaza in Frankfurt’s Europaviertel district, a joint venture project developed by ECE and CA Immo, will open its gates for the first time at 8 o’clock tomorrow morning (Thursday, 29.08.2013).

 

The shopping centre will present around 170 specialist shops, service companies and catering operations on two sales levels with a sales area of 38,000 sqm. Allianz took over 80% of the shopping centre on completion. The remaining shares are divided equally between the joint venture partners, ECE and CA Immo. The total investment volume for the shopping centre and the adjacent congress centre is around € 360 m.

The Skyline Plaza, centrally located between the Messe Frankfurt trade fair site, the financial district and the main railway station, provides the urban focus of the Europaviertel district, developed by CA Immo. Particular attention was paid in the development to its integration into the surrounding urban fabric and to good accessibility by car and public transport – a new subway line will have a station right in the centre itself in the future. The shopping centre has already been awarded gold pre-certification from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) for its sustainable planning and urban integration. ECE will take over the long-term management of the centre which created 1,200 jobs.

In addition to many new shop concepts (such as the Inditex label Pull & Bear), the Skyline Plaza also offers visitors a large Food Court with 16 different catering providers and seating for about 400, and a roof garden that is unique in Germany to date. The central point of the “Skyline Garden”, covering an area of 7,300 sqm, is the ALEX Restaurant with its two terraces. The high-quality leisure facilities provided by the first MeridianSpa in Frankfurt are one of the features supplementing the recreational offering. The largest gym and wellness offering in the city in terms of area is being developed on a site covering about 9,200 sqm, which includes a spacious roof terrace. The scheduled opening date is February 2014.
