Personnel news: Bernhard Hansen to leave CA Immo

Bernhard H. Hansen (59) will step down from the Management Board of CA Immobilien Anlagen AG on 31 December 2013; he will also resign his post as CEO of CA Immo Deutschland GmbH.

Mr. Hansen joined Vivico Real Estate, as the company was then named, on 1st January 2006; he was charged with privatising Vivico, which at the time was owned by the Federal Republic of Germany. He went on to contribute to the development of the Europaviertel district of Frankfurt with the Europa-Boulevard, Skyline Plaza and Tower 185 structures, and the Europacity district of Berlin with Steigenberger Hotels and the Tour TOTAL building; he was also responsible for the Arnulfpark in Munich and numerous other development projects. Mr. Hansen thereby established Vivico as one of Germany’s leading urban district and project developers. The company was successfully sold to CA Immo in Austria in December 2007. In his capacity as CEO of CA Immo Deutschland GmbH, Mr. Hansen continued to oversee business in Germany after privatisation. In October 2009, he was appointed to the Management Board of CA Immobilien Anlagen AG, where he took responsibility for the development segment for the whole Group. He recently was in charge of the successful sale of Tower 185.

“Bernhard Hansen has planned and advanced urban district and other large-scale projects with great success and distinction. For this, and for his role in integrating the German company into the CA Immo organisation, we would like to extend him our deepest thanks,” said Dr. Wolfgang Ruttenstorfer, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of CA Immobilien Anlagen AG.

The position of Chief Development Officer will be allowed to lapse after he steps down; his duties will be assumed by CEO Bruno Ettenauer. Development activities across the CA Immo Group will continue under the leadership of Henrik Thomsen (Head of Development), while the CA Immo branch offices in Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich will report directly to Head of Asset Management Gregor Drexler.

As CA Immo CEO Dr. Bruno Ettenauer confirms, “We will push ahead with development activities on a scale appropriate to the size of our company, and we will continue to bring properties developed to the familiar CA Immo standards of quality to the market. Germany will remain our core market, and development expertise will still be the cornerstone of our business model.”
