Office and hotel high-rise ONE is the first building in Germany to receive a platinum WiredScore certificate
Matthias Schmidt, Head of Development at CA Immo Deutschland GmbH: ‘Our tenants’ business processes and models increasingly rely on digital technology, which means that fast and secure Internet connections are important factors in commercial success. That’s why an optimised, fail-safe, and future-oriented digital intrastructure, both at and in the building, is of critical importance to companies.’
CA Immo recognised the significance of this and has developed all new buildings with an eye towards ensuring the highest connectivity standards. At present, cube berlin is undergoing the WiredScore’s certification process. CA Immo is even upgrading existing buildings so that tenants can benefit from an optimised digital infrastructure there as well.
In its analysis of the ONE building, WiredScore specifically identified a number of special features: For instance, the plans include fibreoptic connections to the leased areas, which will ensure high-speed Internet at the workstations. In addition, a redundant digital infrastructure optimises stable, failsafe performance and, by strengthening the mobile signal, also ensures mobile connectivity.
Sebastian Kohts, Director of Business Development at WiredScore, says: ‘We congratulate the ONE building and CA Immo for being the first in Germany to receive our platinum certification. In terms of connectivity, the ONE building is on the level of the Empire State Building in New York and The Shard in London.’
WiredScore was founded in 2013 on the initiative of the city of New York and its then-mayor Michael Bloomberg. WiredScore has had operations in Germany since 2017. Currently, over 1,400 buildings with a total area of around 37 million square metres in over 158 cities have been certified by WiredScore. In addition to icons like the Empire State Building and The Shard, it has certified other internationally known buildings like the Tour CBX in Paris and the White Collar Factory in London.
CA Immo is constructing the 190-metre-tall ONE building at the junction of the banking district and the Europaviertel (European quarter). A special feature of the ONE building is that it’s a mixed usage space that combines hotel and office usage in the same building. The two areas share the lobby and its additional features, such as a café, cocktail bar, and lounge. The concept also includes a coworking area that is open to office tenants as well as external users. The build-ing’s finishing touch will be a skybar with a wrap-around roof terrace — the only one of its kind in all of Frankfurt. CA Immo’s concept for the building is a reaction to the rapidly changing needs of companies and their workers. Due to its mixed usage design, the building’s tenants will benefit from additional informal spaces at the company for communicating and working. Due to the possibility of coworking, tenants can rent additional temporary office and project space as needed.
