Hansainvest purchases two office buildings in Cologne from Vivico

Cologne, 10. September 2009 Hansainvest has purchased two office buildings in the centre of Cologne for a special fund. The RheinPalais and the RheinAtrium are located on the Konrad-Adenauer-Ufer, right beside the river Rhine and belong to the RheinTriadem complex of buildings. The overall investment runs to some 55 million euros. The quarter's developer, Vivico, is the seller.

The properties encompass roughly 172,222 square feet of rental area. Tenants include consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers, the solicitor's office Loschelder, the Perfume retailer Douglas and the BHF-BANK. Both buildings were restored or newly built by Vivico and are equipped with modern office space.
"In purchasing these two Cologne buildings, we have been able to acquire two top properties in an excellent location," said Nicholas Brinckmann, Managing Director of Hansainvest. "The tenancy agreements are of long-term scope, the credit standing of the tenants is excellent."
Vivico's Executive Director Gregor Drexler stressed: "Well let, prime-location real estate is still in demand. The two Cologne office buildings also take into account of the high expectation of internationally successful companies in terms of representation and service."
BNP Paribas Real Estate provided advice with the transaction.
Vivico restored and erected the buildings, which form part of the RheinTriadem® ensemble, according to a highbrow architectural concept. Efficient office space, modern facility management with an in-house Internet service portal as well as ample parking facilities all go towards making this property an attractive long-term investment. The RheinTriadem® complex also includes the former administrative offices of the German railways, for which Vivico is currently developing a utilization concept. The property is already known for its attractive interim uses, including being the venue for the music fair Popkomm.
