Basel, 18 December 2009  The property, which was built in 1905, has been fully renovated by Vivico.  It has around 64,583 ft² of gross floor space. The main tenant is the education provider Kalaidos, which runs the Swiss International School (SIS) there and rents 58,125 ft². The integrated, forward-looking educational institute moved to Basel's new urban district in 2004. Here, 220 children of all ages are taught according to international standards.
PUBLICA has already constructed around 240 apartments on the adjacent plot of land that now bears the name Erlentor. The first residents moved in during the summer of 2009. Around the same time work began on the 538,196 ft² park that forms the heart of Erlenmatt. The Erlenmatt Galerie, a shopping centre with a hotel, is being constructed to the east of Erlenmatt. The Basel firm Miller & Maranta is responsible for the architecture of the Erlenmatt Galerie; construction is set to commence in the second half of 2010.
