CA Immo: Lead gold sustainability certificate for two office properties in Hungary

Group-wide sustainability strategy involves further certificates for existing buildings in CEE and Austria

The CA Immo office properties Capital Square and R70 in Budapest have been awarded gold certification in accordance with LEED standards for existing buildings. Until 2015, further investment properties in the CEE region as well as in Austria are scheduled to be certified. The target is to present the quality of the buildings to the market in a more transparent and comparable way. Own project developments are being certified since 2011 to LEED, DGNB or ÖGNI standards on a Group-wide basis. Currently, six international office properties are developed by CA Immo, each of them following LEED or DGNB sustainability standards.

According to Dr. Bruno Ettenauer, CEO of CA Immo, “Our international business model is based on large, high quality office properties in prime Central European locations that are managed by our local branches. It is our quality standards that make us successful in the long term and attract tenants, even in challenging market cycles.”

About Capital Square

The Capital Square office structure, which has gross floor space of 32,500 sqm, was completed in the summer of 2009. In the same year it won the Construction & Investment Journal (CIJ) award for ‘Best Office Development’. Located on Vácí út in a central business district of Budapest, the property comprises six separate sections accessed via shared central stairwells; interior courtyards and staggered roof terraces accommodate 3,100 sqm of green space. The majority of tenants at Capital Square are international companies in the service sector, while bank branches and a restaurant are located on the ground floor. The property, which also offers a direct link to the subway, provides environmentally compatible building services as well as outstanding architecture and quality of life for tenants.

About R70

The construction of the R70 office building was completed in 2002 and has an excellent location with easy access by car and by public transport also. The 18,800 GLA office property provides four reception areas, an inner courtyard as well as one level visitor parking from the four underground levels.
