CA Immo Extends Lease for approx. 2,800 sqm in Berlin Office Building

Berlin, 14.05.2024 - CA Immo has extended its long-term lease with KPMG AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft for a total of around 2,800 m² of rental space in the "Bürogebäude am Kunstcampus" office building in Berlin's Europacity, not far from the main railway station. The company is the sole tenant of the building.

Sonja Bischoff, Head of CA Immo Berlin: "In the current challenging market environment, the extension of such a lease is not a given. We are all the more pleased about this success, as it speaks both for the high quality of the building and its outstanding location."

The "Bürogebäude am Kunstcampus" is part of a building complex completed by CA Immo in 2019. Designed by Kleihues + Kleihues, the ensemble on Heidestrasse is located in the immediate vicinity of other CA Immo office buildings such as MY.B, Tour Total, the Heidestrasse 57 office building, Monnet4 and the recently completed high-rise building on Europaplatz, where KPMG opened its new Berlin headquarters just a few weeks ago. This year, CA Immo is also planning to start construction work on another office building with around 15,000 m² of rental space at this location using a timber hybrid construction method. As one of the first office buildings in Berlin, the new building will be fully electrified, enabling CO2-neutral operation. The predicted energy requirement for the building's operation will be at least 30% below the current reference value. The building was designed by the renowned architectural firm Dorte Mandrup (Copenhagen) and is scheduled for completion at the turn of 2026/2027.

Europacity, located in the centre of Berlin, stretches along the Spandauer Schifffahrtskanal between the Spreebogen and the main railway station in the south and the Perleberger Brücke in the north. As one of the main landowners and investors, CA Immo has developed an urban and mixed-use city quarter on the approximately 65-hectare site. Europacity is now one of the most popular office locations in the capital. Many well-known, internationally active and innovative large companies, such as DKB, KPMG, Total Energies, SAP, 50Hertz and many more, have already relocated their Berlin headquarters to the Europacity.
