CA Immo announces full letting of Grasblau office building and continues campus development

Berlin, 15.10.2024 - CA Immo has agreed an extension to its lease with ZEIT Verlagsgruppe for around 750 sqm of rental space in the Grasblau office building in Berlin. This means that the Class A building on the Landwehrkanal in Berlin's city center, which has a total rental area of 13,400 sqm, is now fully let. At the same time, CA Immo is pressing ahead with campus development at this location with the redevelopment of a further office building with around 17,900 sqm of rental space.

Carsten Bachmann, Managing Director and Head of Asset Management at CA Immo Germany: “The successful full occupancy of Grasblau underlines the continued strong demand for contemporary, sustainably planned and service-oriented office buildings in central, well-developed locations. This is why planning for our new building here on Hallesches Ufer is already in full swing. We will construct another landmark building here that meets both high sustainability standards and the increased requirements of office tenants. Our focus is on offering a wide range of services for tenants and on providing an above-average quality of stay in the building and at the location, as is familiar from high-quality campus structures.”

The location on Hallesches Ufer is in the immediate vicinity of the lively Potsdamer Platz. From 2025, CA Immo will first dismantle a former railway administration building from the 1960s for the planned new building. As far as possible, the building materials will be separated and recycled. It is planned that some of the previous building materials will also be reused in the new building. The new office building is expected to be completed in 2028 and will meet the highest standards in terms of sustainability, energy efficiency and spatial flexibility. The aim is to create a modern and future-proof office building that meets the greatly increased demands of the market.

With the full letting of Grasblau and plans for a further office building at this location, CA Immo is underlining its leading role in the area of high-quality office properties in Berlin. As recently as 19 September 2024, CA Immo celebrated the start of construction work on the Anna Lindh Haus on Europaplatz in Berlin's Europacity at the main railway station together with the Federal Minister for Housing, Urban Development and Construction. The Anna Lindh Haus, designed by the renowned architectural firm Dorte Mandrup (Copenhagen), will be CA Immo's first office building to be built using a timber hybrid construction method and will be CO2-neutral in operation thanks to full electrification. The building, which will offer around 15,000 m² of office space, is scheduled for completion in 2026.
