AUSTRIAN PROPERTY COMPANIES CYCLE TO REAL ESTATE TRADE FAIR IN MUNICH

CA Immo, Austrian Real Estate (ARE), ÖRAG and ÖBB-Immobilien riding for mobile sustainability

Vienna, 02 October 2013. Things are moving in the real estate sector: A group from employees of Austrian property companies will set out to cycle from Vienna to Munich this year. The “Équipe EXPO“ will tackle a route covering approximately 520 km over five days. Aside from the sporting challenge it represents, the event will put the spotlight on environmental awareness and teamspirit.

For 14 staff members from CA Immo, ARE, ÖRAG and ÖBB-Immobilien, the Expo Real cycling tour 2013 started today at 11am. They will spend five days together in the saddle before arriving at their destination of Munich on 6th October, having covered some 520 kilometres. They will be just in time to attend Expo Real, Europe’s largest trade fair for commercial real estate, which takes place from 7th-9th October. “We believe our experience of tackling the tour together since 2011 has brought us closer and made us a stronger team. That's why we’re so happy that staff from ARE, ÖRAG and ÖBB-Immobilien, colleagues from the sector, are joining us this year,” explains Gregor Drexler, the CA Immo Group’s Head of Asset Management. According to Reinhard Prüfert, Managing Director of ÖRAG Immobilien, “The whole ÖRAG team was inspired by CA Immo’s commitment to the project from the outset. Especially in the area of joint business travel, it is important to be aware of the issue of sustainability. We are delighted to have the chance to take part in this year’s tour.”

Strong Austrian representation at Expo Real
While CA Immo will be represented with its own stand (C1.120) at the Expo Real property sector event for the second year in succession, ARE Austrian Real Estate is making its first appearance at the Austria stand in hall B2. As Gregor Drexler says, “For us, Expo Real is the most important event of the year for the sector. This is where we meet just about anybody who’s anybody in the Central Europe region.” For ÖBB-Immobilien, attending Expo Real has been a firm fixture in the calendar for years. The company will be showcasing its main urban development projects at the joint Vienna/Central Europe stand (hall A1, stand 110). These projects are linked to Vienna main station and the Nordbahnhof site as well as sites of special interest to logistics companies. ÖRAG Immobilien has been represented at Expo Real by staff from all divisions for many years. According to Reinhard Prüfert, “Aside from intensive networking and personal contacts with international investors, it’s important for us to keep up with the times and recognise new trends on European markets as they emerge.”

Strong teams for long-term success
Mindful of their motto ‘Strong teams for long-term success’, the sporting endeavour will provide an opportunity to promote and practise fair cooperation outside the office environment. Team members are already embarking on collective training rides after work, partly to prepare physically for the tour but also to enable the riders to come together and find common ground as a group through sport. “

The route: Vienna to Munich in five stages
On 2nd October, the riders will start out for Semmering, where they will spend their first night after completing the first 95 kilometres. Day two, comprising 120 kilometres, will take the team to Admont. Stage three (115 kilometres) brings the riders to Bad Ischl in the Salzkammergut region, while day four will entail a 120-kilometre ride to Lake Chiemsee. The fifth and final stage covers the last 70 kilometres to the destination of Munich.
